Champaign Regional Speedskating’s purpose is the charitable,
educational, and competitive programs for amateur speedskating,
hereafter meaning all ice speedskating sports recognized by the United
States Olympic Committee. Champaign Regional Speedskating’s purpose shall be to: (a)
Support and develop advancing amateur speedskating skills and
competitors, (b) Foster national and international amateur speedskating
competitions, (c) Promote interest and support for amateur speedskating
within its members and the regional community, (d) Promote the six
pillars of sportsmanship, these being trustworthiness, respect,
responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship, (e) Promote positive
childhood and adolescent development to combat juvenile delinquency,
(f) Foster young adult well-being and improve family function, and (g)
Lessen the burdens of government in furnishing such educational and
competitive opportunities.
